  1. Why is FBC Shallowater starting a church in Plainview? Is there really a need for another church?
    To our knowledge, there is not a contemporary church with Baptist beliefs and non-charismatic tendencies in the entire Plainview area. For years, we have encountered a number of people longing for a contemporary church. We know that a vast majority of college students, young families, and people of all ages and cultures do not attend church anywhere. We want to offer an exciting alternative.

  2. Who is the church going to target?
    Anyone who is currently not involved in church! We hope that our contemporary edge will not only attract younger generations, but that it will reach the non-churched of all ages and cultures.

  3. What is your mission?
    We want to be a church that uses innovative methods to reach non-believers as well as make and shape authentic followers of Christ.

    We want to Stonebridge Fellowship to:

  5. Why did you name the church "Stonebridge Fellowship"?
    We wanted a name that didn't have denominational barriers and that would be uniquely different. The word "stone" represents JESUS CHRIST, who is the rock, the foundation, the cornerstone of our faith. The word "bridge" illustrates how Jesus bridged the gap between humanity's wickedness and God's sovereignty. It also refers to the idea that this church is an extension from Shallowater to Plainview, and Stonebridge to the community.

  6. Who will Stonebridge Fellowship be affiliated with?
    FBC, Shallowater / BGCT (Baptist General Convention of Texas)

  7. Where does Stonebridge Fellowship meet?
    We will meet in the Fair Theatre (717 Broadway) for at least one year. As we grow and strengthen as a community, a permanent location need to be considered that is in a prime location, to give us room to grow, and allows room for ministries to meet

  8. What time will the service be on Sunday mornings?
    We will have a service at 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings.

  9. Will we have Sunday School?
    No, we will not have Sunday School. In the evenings, we will have home group Bible studies during the week. Wednesday will be the designated day for this, unless groups have a more suitable day to meet.

  10. What do I wear?
    We encourage our core group to dress casually. We want all people to feel welcome without having to second guess their attire.

  11. Who is going to lead worship?
    Garrett Wooten has taken lead with a great band behind him.

  12. Will there be a nursery?
    Absolutely! We have 4 rooms available upstairs, and we have experienced volunteers ready to serive in the capacity.

  13. Who is funding the church?
    Stonebridge Fellowshp will temporarily be funded by FBC, Shallowater, BGCT, and the tithes and offerings of core group members.
